Holder liability insurance for aircraft
Aviation liability insurance provides protection in the event of claims for damages by third parties on the ground based on statutory provisions. The liability insurer checks the validity of the claims, pays if the claim is justified and defends if the claim is unjustified.
The legal liability for the use of the insured aircraft is insured under the owner’s liability insurance. This is a compulsory insurance. The insurance coverage also includes the personal liability of all persons involved in the guidance, operation and control of the aircraft.
The insurance does not cover liability claims based on bodily injury or property damage to the occupants or passengers of the aircraft (see Passenger Liability Insurance).
To determine the insurance premium, information on the aircraft type, registration number, year of manufacture, serial number, maximum take-off weight (MTOW), intended use and geographical area of operation is required.
